For fans of Dawson's Creek, patience is finally rewarded. The beloved cast of the late 1990s teen drama is set to reunite for a live reading of the pilot episode, bringing together James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams, and Joshua Jackson on stage for the first time in decades. The special event, titled Dawson's Creek Class Reunion, will take place on September 22 at New York City's Richard Rodgers Theatre.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are continuing their partnership with Netflix, announcing an extension of their agreement for films and TV shows. The new "multi-year, first look deal" grants Netflix the first option on content developed by Prince Harry and Meghan's Archewell production company. This revised arrangement contradicts reports that the Sussexes' relationship with Netflix was coming to an end.

“It’s alive … in theaters!”

Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein will not be confined solely to streaming after all. Netflix confirmed Monday that the highly anticipated project will receive a limited theatrical release starting October 17, ahead of its global streaming debut on November 7.

South Korean auteur Park Chan-wook—known for Oldboy, Snowpiercer, and The Handmaiden—and Canadian co-creator Don McKellar have been expelled from the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW). The union determined that both worked on HBO’s The Sympathizer during the 2023 writers’ strike, a clear violation of the guild’s strike rules. Neither appealed the expulsion, and their names were publicly disclosed by the WGA as part of its enforcement measures.

Canal+’s planned takeover of MultiChoice, Africa’s largest pay-TV operator, could face its first serious test before the deal is even finalized in October. Ghana’s communications regulator, the National Communications Authority (NCA), has ordered MultiChoice Ghana to cut its subscription rates by 30% or face suspension of its operating license.
