Jimmy Kimmel might be bidding farewell to a new nation. In the midst of his conflict with President Donald Trump, the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! disclosed that he has acquired Italian citizenship.

Kimmel revealed on The Sarah Silverman Podcast on August 7 that she had obtained Italian citizenship. "Yes, I do possess that."

And why? "This situation is just as terrible as you anticipated."

According to Silverman, who dated Kimmel from 2002 to 2009, it was "way worse."

In response, Kimmel said, "It's so much worse."

Kimmel added, "It's just unbelievable." Kimmel has children with his ex-wife Gina Maddy, including Katie Kimmel, 33, and Kevin Kimmel, 31; with his wife Molly McNearney, he has children, Jane Kimmel, 11, and Billy Kimmel, 8. It's probably worse than [President Trump] would like, in my opinion.

Although the president has frequently been criticized by the late-night host, their feud gained recent attention when Stephen Colbert declared in July that CBS would discontinue The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2026.

On July 29, Trump wrote on his Truth Social account that Stephen "was fired for a pure lack of TALENT," acknowledging the news.

He added, “Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel.”

But Kimmel is not the only person who has looked to move abroad in the past year: Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, moved to England, while Rosie O’Donnell and her family relocated to Ireland shortly before Trump’s January inauguration.

Indeed, after Trump stated that he was thinking of "revoking" the Sleepless in Seattle star's U.S. citizenship, DeGeneres recently expressed her support for O'Donnell.

On social media, O'Donnell replied to the politician, "Hey Donald, you're rattled again? I'm still living rent-free in your collapsing brain eighteen years later. You accuse me of being a threat to humanity, but I'm just the loud, outspoken, queer woman you're afraid of.

In July, DeGeneres posted a screenshot of the exchange to her Instagram with the caption, "Congratulations, @rosie."
