Apple TV's The Morning Show is officially heading into its final chapter. The streamer confirmed that the Emmy‑winning drama, fronted by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, will end with season five, premiering in 2027.

Aniston, who plays Alex Levy and also executive produces, said she knew this would be the last season from the start.

"Going in knowing it would be our last, we were so fortunate to craft the conclusion with intentionality, and honor these characters the way they deserve," she explained. She added that working with the cast and crew has been "such a privilege," calling them "a family."

Witherspoon, who stars as Bradley Jackson, echoed the sentiment. "The past nine years producing and acting in The Morning Show have been the honor of a lifetime," she said. "This was always more than a show about a newsroom — it was a show about why the newsroom matters. About freedom of the press, and the journalists who protect the fourth estate, often at great cost."

Season five will bring back Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm, while adding Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes, and Lizzy Caplan.

Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt teased, "For five seasons, these messy, resilient journalists have chased their dreams. Now we'll see where their endeavors lead them. What story will they ultimately choose for themselves."

Since its debut in 2019, The Morning Show has been one of Apple TV's defining originals, earning 28 Emmy nominations and sparking conversations about workplace misconduct, corporate politics, and the role of journalism.

Both Aniston and Witherspoon marked the announcement with behind‑the‑scenes posts on Instagram. Witherspoon shared a montage of moments with her co‑stars, writing, "Eight years ago, we decided to tell a story about the people who bring us the news... Throughout five seasons, these characters challenged each other and challenged us."

Aniston posted photos and videos from set, captioning one, "Laughing and crying. Final season of @themorningshow incoming... MUCH more to come."
