Shia LaBeouf's ongoing struggles with alcohol have resurfaced in new court documents filed after his arrest during Mardi Gras in New Orleans earlier this year.

The 40-year-old actor pleaded guilty in June to three counts of misdemeanor battery stemming from a February incident at a French Quarter bar. He was sentenced to two years of probation, ordered to complete substance abuse treatment, anger management, and maintain sobriety.

But according to documents filed in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court on August 19, LaBeouf "self-reported drinking alcohol daily" despite the conditions of his probation.

The filings also note that LaBeouf provided proof of completing anger management and substance abuse programs but declined mental health treatment. His next hearing is scheduled for September 23, though a note in the record indicates he will not appear because he is working on a film set.

LaBeouf has spoken openly about his relapse. On Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan earlier this year, he admitted, "I'm not on the wagon at all. I know there are people that depended on me and people that look to me to be some kind of sobriety, stability, and some pillar of this s--t, but I'm just a man. I'm trying to find it." He also described his behavior during Mardi Gras as "dirty, ugly, disgusting."

Witnesses told police LaBeouf became aggressive after being asked to leave the bar, allegedly punching two men and head-butting a third. Video footage captured him using homophobic slurs before being restrained and later taken to a hospital. He was booked into Orleans Parish Prison and released on bond days later.

LaBeouf has long struggled with alcoholism and has been in and out of Alcoholics Anonymous. He admitted that his sobriety has often been court-mandated or tied to relationships.
