Phil Foden has reached an agreement in principle on a new long-term contract with Manchester City, extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2030, with an option for an additional year.

The 25-year-old midfielder's current deal was set to expire next summer, but the new agreement underlines a shared commitment between player and club despite a challenging run of form. Foden has not found the net since December 14 and has struggled to make a consistent impact in recent months.

He made a substitute appearance in City's 3-3 draw against Everton on Monday, a result that leaves City five points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race, although they still have a game in hand.

Kobbie Mainoo has signed a new long term contract with Manchester United that will keep him at the club until 2031, ending months of speculation about his future.

The 21 year old England international had previously been tied to a deal set to run until 2027, with an option for an additional year. However, uncertainty grew earlier this season after he struggled for consistent playing time under former manager Ruben Amorim. During that period, Mainoo even explored the possibility of a loan move to Napoli in January, but the club turned down the request and made it clear they saw him as part of their long term plans.

Since Amorim's departure, Mainoo has reestablished himself in the team under interim manager Michael Carrick. He has started nearly every league match since the managerial change, missing only one game due to injury. His return to regular action has also helped him regain a place in the England squad, where he recently featured in international friendlies.

Arsenal has qualified for the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years after defeating Atletico Madrid 1-0 on Tuesday. A first-half goal from Bukayo Saka at the Emirates Stadium secured a 2-1 aggregate win, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Mikel Arteta’s side will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich in the final, which is scheduled to take place in Budapest on May 30.

Achraf Hakimi has been ruled out for several weeks after suffering a thigh injury during Paris Saint Germain dramatic Champions League clash against Bayern Munich. The setback comes at a crucial point in the season and means the influential full back will miss the decisive second leg of the semi final in Munich.

Hakimi played the full match in Paris as PSG secured a thrilling 5 4 victory in the first leg. During that game he made a significant impact, providing an assist for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the French champions edged past the Bundesliga side in a high intensity encounter. Despite completing the match, it later emerged that the Morocco international had picked up a right thigh injury.

In an official statement, PSG confirmed that Hakimi would remain under treatment for the next few weeks. This effectively rules him out of the return leg scheduled for 6 May in Munich, a match that will determine who advances to the final of the competition. His absence is a major concern for manager Luis Enrique, given Hakimi’s consistent presence and importance in the squad.
