EUROPE FACES DEADLIEST WILDFIRE SEASON IN HISTORY

Germany has suspended exports of weaponry that could be used in Gaza, following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's approval of a military plan to seize Gaza City. This, making it the first time since reunification that Berlin has withheld military support from its long-time ally.

Elon Musk's social platform X has accused the British government of "overreach" with its new Online Safety Act, designed to protect children from harmful online content. X, in a statement posted to its Global Government Affairs account, warned that the law's "laudable intentions are at risk of being overshadowed by the breadth of its regulatory reach," arguing that it infringes on free expression.

A deadly missile strike, blamed on Russia, rocked Ukraine's capital on Monday, killing a child, injuring at least 88 people, and flattening parts of a children's hospital. Europe's first driverless train operating in an open environment is being tested on a rail line linking two northern Czech towns, its developer announced Tuesday. The Prague-based AZD company, which specializes in transport control and signalling systems, said its train, named Edita, has been running on a local testing track since April.

A UK court on Tuesday awarded Hewlett Packard £700 million ($946 million) in compensation in a fraud case linked to the late British tech tycoon Mike Lynch. The case stems from the sale of Lynch's company, Autonomy, and follows a 2022 court ruling in favor of the US technology giant, now known as Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Lynch died last year when his superyacht sank off the coast of Sicily.
