Just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump's renewed military pledge to Ukraine, Russia launched its most extensive drone assault since the start of the invasion, deploying 728 unmanned aerial vehicles overnight. The barrage, targeting Kyiv, Lutsk, and ten other provinces, tested Ukraine's already strained air defenses and pushed tensions along the NATO frontier to new heights.

Greece has joined a growing number of European destinations seeking to manage mass tourism by implementing a tax on cruise ship passengers visiting its islands, starting Tuesday. Cruise ships stopping at popular islands such as Santorini and Mykonos will be charged 20 euros ($23.62) per passenger, while smaller islands will levy a five-euro tax per passenger, according to the new regulations.

Just a year after leaving office, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has taken on a new role as senior advisor at Goldman Sachs. The company said Sunak, who resigned as PM in July 2024, will offer his "unique perspectives and insights" on the global economy and politics to the bank's clients in a part-time capacity. North Korea has officially opened the Wonsan-Kalma Coastal Tourist Zone, a sprawling beach resort development on the country’s eastern coast. Touted by state media as a “national treasure-level tourism city,” the resort was unveiled in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 24, personally attended by Kim Jong Un, his wife Ri Sol Ju, and their daughter Kim Ju Ae—an appearance widely interpreted as symbolic of dynastic continuity.

Tens of thousands of passengers are facing travel chaos as a French air traffic control strike forces flight cancellations in France and causes widespread disruption across Europe.
