Netflix is giving fans of One Piece a new way to experience the Straw Hat Pirates’ next adventure. The streaming giant will debut the first two episodes of One Piece Season 2 in approximately 200 movie theaters across the United States, Canada, and Japan on March 10. The special screenings are tied directly to the show’s streaming release date, offering audiences the chance to watch the highly anticipated return of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew on the big screen.

North American screenings will begin at 6 p.m. local time. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Feb. 26, at 8 a.m. PT and 11 a.m. ET. Participating U.S. theater chains include AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark Theatres, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and Cineplex, with additional locations across Canada and Japan. The limited theatrical rollout signals Netflix’s continued interest in event style screenings that bring streaming content into traditional cinema spaces.

In Season 2, Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, continues his quest to become King of the Pirates. He is joined by his loyal crew: swordsman Roronoa Zoro, portrayed by

Mackenyu; navigator Nami, played by Emily Rudd; sharpshooter Usopp, portrayed by Jacob Romero; and cook Sanji, played by Taz Skylar. Together, they travel to the Grand Line, a legendary and treacherous stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn.

According to the official logline, the crew will visit bizarre islands, recruit new allies, and face formidable foes as they search for the world’s greatest treasure. The move to the Grand Line represents a major turning point in the story, expanding the scale of the adventure and introducing audiences to even more of the fantastical world that has made One Piece a global phenomenon.

The live action adaptation is based on the beloved manga created by Eiichiro Oda, who also serves as an executive producer. The series quickly became one of Netflix’s most talked about releases when it debuted, praised for honoring the spirit of the original story while introducing it to a broader audience.

Season 2 features returning cast members alongside several new additions, including Charithra Chandran, Joe Manganiello, Katey Sagal, David Dastmalchian, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, among others. Behind the scenes, Matt Owens and Joe Tracz serve as co showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Additional executive producers include Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, and Steven Maeda.

This marks the second time Netflix has brought one of its streaming series to theaters. The company previously generated strong box office results with special screenings tied to Stranger Things, whose finale drew more than 1.1 million ticket vouchers sold and over 25 million dollars at the box office. That success demonstrated that streaming hits can translate into meaningful theatrical events.

With One Piece Season 2 setting sail for cinemas, Netflix is once again testing the power of fandom on the big screen. For devoted viewers, the opportunity to watch Luffy and his crew’s next chapter in a theater promises to make the journey to the Grand Line feel even more epic.
