Warner Bros. Unscripted Television has officially renewed the Emmy-winning daytime talk program, The Jennifer Hudson Show, for a fifth season. The announcement, made on February 20, 2026, ensures that the production will remain a cornerstone of the television landscape through the 2026–2027 broadcast year.

Since its premiere in 2022, the series has carved out a unique space in the competitive daytime market, leveraging Hudson’s “EGOT” status and her reputation for high-energy musical segments and relatable celebrity interviews. The renewal comes as the show enjoys its strongest performance to date, with recent data showing a significant uptick in both total viewership and the key demographic of women aged 25–54.

The fifth season will continue to be produced by Warner Bros. and distributed across the Fox Television Stations group, which serves as the show’s primary launchpad in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, praised Hudson’s growth as a broadcaster, noting that her ability to connect with “everyday heroes” and global superstars alike has been the engine behind the show’s longevity.

“Jennifer Hudson is a force of nature,” Dungey said in a statement. “Over the past four seasons, we have seen her transform into one of the most trusted and beloved voices in daytime. Her warmth, her talent, and her genuine curiosity have created a destination for viewers who want to be both entertained and inspired.”

The production has also seen success on digital platforms, with viral “Happy Place” segments and musical performances garnering hundreds of millions of views on social media. This multi-platform reach was reportedly a major factor in the early renewal, as advertisers increasingly look for programs that can maintain a presence beyond the traditional hour-long broadcast.

Executive producers Mary Connelly and Andy Lassner, both veterans of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, will remain at the helm for the upcoming season. The show is expected to maintain its current filming schedule at the Warner Bros. Studios lot in Burbank, California. With the fifth season now secured, Hudson joins an elite group of daytime hosts who have successfully navigated the challenging post-Ellen era of talk television, solidifying her brand as a permanent fixture in the industry.
