Apple TV has officially announced the return date for Season 5 of its acclaimed original drama series For All Mankind. The new season will premiere on March 27, with fresh episodes arriving weekly every Friday through May 29. Along with the release date, Apple TV has also shared a teaser trailer and a collection of first photos that offer viewers an early glimpse into what lies ahead in the next chapter of the series.

For All Mankind is known for its ambitious premise and richly imagined storytelling. The series explores an alternate history in which the global space race never came to an end. Instead of the United States being the first nation to land on the moon, the Soviet Union reaches that milestone first, setting off decades of continued competition, innovation, and conflict. Through this lens, the show follows NASA astronauts,

engineers, and their families as they navigate personal and professional challenges against the backdrop of humanity’s expanding reach into space.

Season 5 picks up years after the dramatic Goldilocks asteroid heist that reshaped the balance of power in space. Since then, Happy Valley has evolved into a thriving colony on Mars, now home to thousands of residents. What was once a remote outpost has grown into a central hub for new missions that promise to push humanity even deeper into the solar system. However, progress has brought new tensions. As the nations of Earth begin demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction builds between Mars residents and the governments of their former home world. The season is set to explore the political, social, and moral consequences of a growing population that no longer sees Earth as its primary authority.

The cast for Season 5 includes returning series regulars Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt. They are joined by new series regulars Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz, and Ines Asserson. The new additions are expected to bring fresh perspectives and conflicts to the expanding world of the show. Recurring roles this season include Barrett Carnahan as Marcus, a recent high school graduate living on Mars, and Tyler Labine as Fred, a Mars Peacekeeper tasked with maintaining order during a period of growing unrest.

For All Mankind was created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi. Wolpert and Nedivi continue to serve as showrunners for Season 5 and executive produce alongside Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions. Additional executive producers include Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, and Seth Edelstein. The series is produced for Apple TV by Sony Pictures Television.

With its mix of character driven drama, speculative history, and large scale world building, Season 5 of For All Mankind looks set to raise the stakes once again. The newly released teaser and photos suggest a future where humanity’s greatest achievements may also become its greatest source of conflict.
