Following a cliffhanger in the season two finale, Bella Ramsey of The Last of Us switched the point of view to Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and clarified Ellie's season three plotline.
Viewers will continue to see Bella Ramsey after the season two conclusion of The Last of Us.
The 21-year-old clarified whether their character will return for the third season of the HBO series after the May 25 episode "Convergence" ended on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers to wonder what would happen to Ellie as the show's plot shifted to focus on Kaitlyn Dever's Abby in the days before their major confrontation.
In an interview with Variety that was released on May 25, Ramsey stated, "I haven't seen any scripts, but yes, I do expect that." "I think that I’m going to be there, but not a whole bunch."
Ramsey went on to say, "I sort of have a rough idea of what it’s going to be, but I can’t tell you," adding that it's "most likely" that Ellie's screen time will be cut in order to concentrate on Abby in the tale.
Ramsey's comeback has also been confirmed by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, the co-creators of the series, though they have not stated in what capacity.
According to the site, Mazin stated during a press conference on May 23 that "all I can say is we haven’t seen the last of Kaitlyn Dever and we haven’t seen the last of Bella Ramsey."
The producer actually hinted that viewers won't have witnessed the final moments of Isabela Merced's character Dina, as well as "the last of a number of individuals who are currently dead in the story."
"Whether you will see them on screen or not, their presence will be there throughout," continued Druckmann, who also co-created the video games that serve as the basis for the program, The Last of Us.
Yes, Pedro Pascal might be among them. In the second episode of season two, Abby killed his character Joel, which set Ellie on a violent course of retaliation.
In reference to a flashback to Joel's early years on the sixth episode of the most recent season, Druckmann remarked, "I wouldn't have guessed we would have a short story about Joel's dad before we wrote the season, so there you go." "You can’t predict these things."
