The Peppa Pig family just got bigger! Mummy Pig has given birth to her third child, a baby girl named Evie, delighting fans of the beloved animated series as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The announcement was made with a royal-style flair, featuring a town crier in a video shared on Peppa Pig's official Instagram account. The news was later confirmed on Good Morning Britain, where it was revealed that Evie was born at 5:34 AM in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital, famously known for royal births.
In an exclusive interview with People, Mummy Pig expressed her joy: "I'm so thrilled Evie is finally here, happy and healthy... She's just as curious and excitable as Peppa, and as playful and funny as George." The name Evie is a tribute to Mummy Pig's Great Aunt, and was chosen after much deliberation — though once suggested, the family says Evie seemed to recognize it instantly.
The family — Peppa, George, Mummy, and Daddy Pig — is adjusting well to life as a family of five. Peppa and George have embraced their new roles as older siblings with excitement and tenderness, according to Mummy Pig.
Evie's arrival will be featured in a cinema special titled Peppa Meets The Baby, set to release on May 30, alongside 10 new episodes that capture the family's preparation for the new baby. This marks a major development in the show, which has been broadcast in over 180 countries and translated into more than 40 languages since its debut in 2004.
