Katy Perry and Chief Keef have officially squashed their beef — and turned it into a song.

The pop star and the Chicago rapper dropped a remix to Perry's 2013 track "Legendary Lovers" on Thursday, merging it with Keef's own "Save Me" in a collaboration that nobody saw coming — least of all given the pair's famously hostile history.

Perry confirmed the release on TikTok, posting a video of herself and Keef dancing and singing along to the track with the caption: "LEGENDARY LOVERS OUT NOW."

The lead-up to the drop played out across social media throughout the week. Perry first posted a TikTok captioned "attempting to summon Mr. Keef," then footage emerged Wednesday of the pair linking up in a studio parking lot, surrounded by a group of people. Keef's label posted the clip with the cryptic note: "Chiefkeef and Katyperry link up finally."

The backstory behind their reunion makes the collaboration all the more remarkable. In 2013, Perry sparked a viral feud when she tweeted her distaste for Keef's track "Hate Bein' Sober," featuring Wiz Khalifa and 50 Cent.

"Just heard a new song on the radio called 'I Hate Being Sober' and I have serious doubt for the world," she wrote at the time.

Keef responded with a string of deeply aggressive messages, threatening to physically harm the singer in terms too crude to print in full. He also announced plans for a Perry diss track — which never materialized.

Perry subsequently apologized, explaining she had not initially realized the song was his. "I'm a fan of your 'Don't Like' video, tbh," she added. Keef accepted the apology and expressed his own regrets for how he had responded.

Both tracks had been circulating virally on TikTok in the months leading up to the remix, planting the seeds for the unlikely reunion. "Legendary Lovers" originally appeared on Perry's 2013 album Prism and was produced by Max Martin.

The full remix is now available on streaming platforms.
