The 2025 American Music Awards lit up Las Vegas with unforgettable performances and sweeping wins, led by a commanding showing from Billie Eilish. The singer-songwriter walked away with all seven awards for which she was nominated, making her the night’s biggest winner.
Eilish clinched the coveted Artist of the Year award, as well as Album of the Year and Favorite Pop Album for her critically acclaimed “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” She also won Song of the Year and Favorite Pop Song with “Birds of a Feather,” alongside honors for Favorite Touring Artist and Favorite Female Pop Artist—solidifying her as a dominant force in this year’s music landscape.
Beyoncé made history as well, earning Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album for her genre-bending “Cowboy Carter.” Meanwhile, Eminem took home his first AMA wins in 15 years, including Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).”
Gracie Abrams was named New Artist of the Year, and the star power continued with Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars capturing both Favorite Music Video and Collaboration of the Year for “Die With a Smile.” Gaga also won Favorite Dance/Electronic Artist, while Mars picked up Favorite Male Pop Artist.
Jennifer Lopez returned as host, opening the show with an energetic medley of 23 hits from the past year. Janet Jackson delivered her first televised performance in seven years, capped with her acceptance of the Icon Award. “No disrespect in any way, but I don’t consider myself an icon,” Jackson said, reflecting on her career with humility and pride.
Rod Stewart received the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by five of his children, and closed the show with an emotional performance of “Forever Young.”
The evening also featured standout performances from Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Gwen Stefani, Benson Boone, Renee Rapp, Gloria Estefan, Alex Warren, and Becky G with Manuel Turizo.
Other notable winners included Post Malone (Favorite Male Country Artist), Megan Thee Stallion (Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist), SZA (Favorite Female R&B Artist and Favorite R&B Song), and Bad Bunny (Favorite Male Latin Artist and Favorite Latin Album).
