Caitlin Clark's long-awaited signature Nike shoe is finally on the way.
The Indiana Fever star has fueled excitement among fans in recent days with a series of social media hints suggesting the launch of her first signature sneaker is just around the corner. Clark first changed her Instagram handle to @caitlin1, a move many interpreted as a reference to the shoe's expected name, the "Caitlin 1." She also updated her profile picture to a blue Nike logo, further fueling speculation.
The clues continued this week when Clark shared a collection of photos on social media that appeared to feature the new sneakers. Nike joined the conversation with a comment urging followers to "keep swiping," prompting even more discussion about an imminent release.
Fans also noticed a set of friendship bracelets Clark wore before Indiana's game against the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday. One bracelet featured the words "Caitlin 1," while another displayed the date "10-01-26," which many interpreted as a possible release date.
Nike officially put the speculation to rest on Wednesday by confirming both the shoe and its launch date.
Clark signed a landmark eight-year, $28 million endorsement deal with Nike before entering the WNBA as a rookie. Her personal brand has continued to grow rapidly since then, highlighted by the debut of her logo featuring two interlocking Cs. Among active WNBA players, only A'ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu currently have signature shoes with Nike.
Speaking about the project, Clark said she knew immediately when she saw the final design that it was something special.
"When I saw the final product, it was one of those moments where you instantly know it's right," Clark said. "I really challenged Nike to create something I could be proud of, and I think people are going to love it."
The shoe's release comes during another standout season for the former Iowa star. Clark is averaging a career-best 20.4 points per game while contributing 8.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds.
She continued her strong form Tuesday with 21 points and 14 assists in Indiana's 113-91 victory over Toronto, helping the Fever improve to 9-5 on the season. Indiana will look to build on that momentum when it hosts the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night.
