Jonas Brothers are saying goodbye to their Las Vegas restaurant as Nellie's Southern Kitchen prepares to close its doors after several years of operation in the city.
The Southern comfort food restaurant, which is co-owned by Denise Jonas, Kevin Jonas Sr., and sons Kevin, Joe, Nick and Franklin Jonas, will officially end service on May 25. According to a statement released by the brand, the decision was made as the restaurant's lease approached its end and ownership considered its long-term priorities.
A representative for the business explained that the restaurant had operated successfully in Las Vegas for several years, but leadership decided to focus attention and resources on future plans elsewhere.
The 11,000-square-foot venue opened in June 2022 in the District near the MGM Grand Garden Arena. At the time, the Jonas Brothers were performing residency shows in Las Vegas and joined family members for the restaurant's grand opening celebration. The project was launched through a partnership with investment company TLI Bedrock.
Nellie's Southern Kitchen carried a strong family connection for the Jonas family. The restaurant was named after Kevin Jonas Sr.'s late grandmother, Nellie. The original location opened in Belmont, North Carolina, his hometown, in 2016.
Kevin Sr. previously spoke about the inspiration behind the restaurant and the role his grandmother played in shaping its identity. Growing up in his grandparents' home, he remembered watching her return from work at a local cotton mill and prepare meals for the family. He said the goal was always to create an atmosphere built around warmth, hospitality and comfort.
The menu featured traditional Southern-inspired dishes prepared using recipes that had been passed through multiple generations of the Jonas family. Favorites included chicken and dumplings, fried chicken accompanied by macaroni and cheese, collard greens and several family-inspired specialties.
Family members also had their own preferred dishes. Kevin Jonas reportedly enjoyed sweeter menu options, Joe favored lighter selections and Nick had a particular favorite sandwich, while Franklin had his own go-to comfort meal.
Music also played a major role in the restaurant's atmosphere. The Jonas family emphasized creating a space where guests could enjoy live performances and a welcoming environment, reflecting traditions they valued at home.
Although the Las Vegas chapter is coming to a close, the family's original Belmont location remains part of the brand's story and ongoing legacy.
