Influencer Braden Eric Peters, known online as "Clavicular," has received a six-month probation sentence for allegedly firing a gun during a livestream at a wildlife sanctuary. The 20-year-old, popular for his "looksmaxxing" content, pleaded no contest in a Florida court on Friday.
The charges stemmed from unlawfully discharging a firearm in March. Peters can have the case removed from his record by completing firearms and wildlife safety courses, along with 20 hours of non-monetized community service.
His lawyer says Peters has "accepted responsibility for his conduct".
In a statement, his attorney Jeffrey Neiman said his client "reached a resolution that appropriately reflects the circumstances of this incident".
"He is committed to moving forward responsibly and ensuring nothing like this occurs again," he said. "We appreciate the professionalism of the State and the Court in resolving this matter."
Fellow social media personality Andrew Morales, known online as "The Cuban Tarzan", also pleaded no contest in connection to the apparent shooting and received a similar deal.
The case stems from a 26 March incident that Clavicular captured during a video livestream. The footage appears to show multiple gunshots being fired into swamp water from an airboat in the Everglades Wildlife Management Area, west of Miami.
Hours later, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it was "aware of a video depicting individuals in the Everglades on an airboat who appear to be discharging at an alligator".
Clavicular's attorney has previously said that his client was "following the instructions of a licensed airboat guide", and that "no animals or people were harmed" during the incident.
A third person, Yabdiel Anibal Cotto Torres, who goes by "Baby Alien" online, was also charged in the case. Torres is scheduled to enter a plea on 20 May.
