Justin Baldoni is "ecstatic" about the outcome of the legal dispute connected to It Ends With Us, according to his attorney Bryan Freedman, following the recent settlement involving Blake Lively and the film's production companies.

Speaking to Extra, Freedman said both Baldoni and producer Jamie Heath were extremely satisfied with how the matter concluded after months of legal proceedings. While he declined to disclose the terms of the settlement, he emphasized that his clients were pleased with the resolution and considered it a positive ending to a prolonged dispute.

Freedman clarified that Baldoni was no longer directly involved in the case at the time settlement talks began. He stressed that Baldoni had already stepped out of the litigation before discussions between the parties moved forward, noting that his role in the matter had effectively ended.

He also suggested that the settlement should not be interpreted as a personal victory or defeat for Baldoni. Instead, he described it as a practical conclusion to a case that had evolved significantly over time and in which Baldoni was no longer an active party.

According to Freedman, the scope of the lawsuit had narrowed considerably before resolution efforts intensified. He stated that multiple claims had already been dismissed through legal motions, reducing the number of individuals involved and shifting the focus of the case primarily to Lively and several production-related entities, including Wayfarer Studios, which Baldoni co-founded.

The legal conflict officially concluded on May 4 when representatives for both sides confirmed a settlement was reached, just under two weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial in New York.

In a joint statement, the parties acknowledged the challenges of the process and said that concerns raised during the dispute were taken seriously. They also reaffirmed a shared commitment to maintaining professional environments free from misconduct and emphasized support for survivors of domestic violence, noting that the film remains a source of pride.

The dispute began in December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni, who directed and co-starred in the film, of misconduct on set and alleged a campaign to damage her reputation. Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a countersuit, which was later dismissed.

In April, a federal judge dismissed several of Lively's claims while allowing others related to retaliation to proceed, before the case ultimately reached settlement.
