Zayn Malik's family have urged fans to stop sending flowers after a wave of support left a local florist unable to keep up with demand following the singer's recent hospitalisation.

The former One Direction star, 33, revealed earlier this month that he was receiving treatment for a mystery illness, and has since remained largely silent online.

Concerned fans quickly began organising bouquet deliveries in a show of solidarity, but the response soon spiralled.

Now, his cousin, Sasha Malik, has stepped in with a heartfelt message, thanking supporters while asking them to consider an alternative.

Writing on Instagram, she said the family "truly appreciate the love,"  but admitted "logistically, it just simply can't work."

Instead, fans have been encouraged to donate in Zayn's name to The Palestine Project, a cause the family continue to support.

A statement from the florist , shared with the family's approval, confirmed it had been overwhelmed by requests and could no longer accept new orders at this time.

Supporters were invited to give what they would have spent on flowers and leave messages of support alongside their contributions.

The update comes after Zayn Malik posted a hospital photo  forcing him to cancel several appearances linked to his upcoming album.

He had been due to perform at a one-off UK show  but told fans he was "heartbroken" to pull out, thanking them for their patience and understanding.

Sources say the singer is continuing treatment, with reports suggesting he is under specialist care as he focuses on recovery.

Despite the setback, his planned world tour,  set to span the UK, North America and beyond, is still expected to go ahead.

The tour marks a major milestone for the singer who has previously stepped back from live performances due to health struggles.

Fans continue to rally behind him, swapping flowers for donation, and flooding social media with messages of support.
