Machine Gun Kelly's wild boy past is still with him. In fact, the "Emo Girl" singer admitted that a previous drug offense caused several problems while traveling abroad.
"I got caught with cocaine on the way back from New Zealand the last time I was out here," MGK admitted on the April 22 episode of Take Flight. "Traveling was difficult because I have a level one narcotics possession or whatever."
As a result, the 36-year-old (real name Colson Baker) struggled to obtain visas to travel to Australia, claiming he was unable to visit for eight years because he believed the statute of limitations was ten years.
Furthermore, MGK, who welcomed daughter Saga Blade with Megan Fox last year, admitted that he is still unable to get priority security screenings at airports due to his drug record.
"I still don't get [TSA] PreCheck or Global Entry or any of that fast stuff in the airport," MGK stated. "I'm still stuck in lines like normal."
But, in the years since the airport incident, the "Lonely Road" singer has been open about his journey to sobriety.
"I'm completely sober from everything," he revealed on the Dumb Blonde podcast in 2024. "I don't drink anymore." "I haven't drank since last August."
"I didn't tell anybody outside of those closest to me, but I went to rehab right when we got off the European tour last year," MGK said. "That was my first time going to rehab, and they just showed me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from, as well as methods to quell it. "I eventually became aware of my condition and accepted it, and it's a constant tightrope walk."
He attributed his lifestyle change at the time to his then-fiancée Megan and daughter Casie, 16, whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon.
"You know, Casie, one of the major factors that killed me in that relationship was when she would be like, 'Dad, I know you're high,’” MGK recalled. “That is like the ultimate sign of just disappointment in yourself. I continue to embrace that this journey’s going to be hard for me, but I accept it and forgive myself.”
