Sam Asghari has shared his thoughts on ex-wife Britney Spears checking into a treatment facility following her recent DUI arrest.

Speaking shortly after the news broke, Asghari responded positively to the development. "I think it's great," he said, adding, "I think anything that has anything to do with healing [are] great things."

He emphasized the importance of personal agency in such decisions, noting, "As long as the person is in charge of that, it's all great."

Spears, 44, voluntarily entered treatment in April, about a month after she was arrested on March 4 on suspicion of driving under the influence in California.

Following her release, a representative described the incident as "an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable," adding that the singer would "take the right steps and comply with the law."

The statement continued, "Hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life," while expressing hope that she would receive "the help and support she needs during this difficult time."

Asghari, who was married to Spears from 2022 until their divorce was finalized in 2024, confirmed that the two have not been in contact since she entered the facility. Despite that, he has maintained a supportive stance, previously saying he wished her "the most success and recovery."

He has also spoken about the importance of privacy during such moments. "I think that everyone deserves privacy," he said in an earlier interview, adding that he hopes she is given "the privacy that she needs."

Others close to Spears have echoed similar sentiments. Kevin Federline, her former husband and father of her two sons, also expressed support through his lawyer, who said that if she "needs help, he is happy that she is getting help," particularly if the decision was made independently.

Spears shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with Federline, and reports indicate her family has been encouraging her to prioritize her well-being.

Asghari, reflecting more broadly on their past relationship, previously described their time together as "a blessing," adding, "people grow apart and people move on," while maintaining that he does not believe in speaking negatively about former partners.
