Mike Myers makes a brief but notable appearance in the new Michael Jackson biopic, marking a return to the screen after several years.

In Michael, a film that traces the rise of Michael Jackson, Myers takes on the role of real life CBS Records executive Walter Yetnikoff. The 62 year old actor is almost unrecognizable in the part, appearing in a key scene alongside Jackson, portrayed by his nephew Jaafar Jackson, and music lawyer John Branca, played by Miles Teller. The scene focuses on efforts to secure airplay for "Thriller" and other groundbreaking music videos on MTV, a pivotal moment in Jackson's career.

Yetnikoff, who led CBS Records from 1975 to 1990, played a significant role during the peak of Jackson's success in the 1980s. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy tied closely to some of the biggest artists of that era.

Myers has kept a relatively low profile in recent years when it comes to film roles. His last on screen appearance before this project was in the 2022 film Amsterdam, following an earlier role in Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018. The Canadian actor has long been known for taking extended breaks between projects, once explaining that he enjoys spending time with friends and maintaining a quieter personal life in New York.

Outside of acting, Myers has embraced family life with his wife Kelly Tisdale and their three children. He has previously described becoming a parent as one of the most fulfilling experiences of his life.

Despite stepping back from major film roles, Myers has made occasional public appearances. He returned to Saturday Night Live with a comedic portrayal of Elon Musk, and recently attended an American Film Institute tribute honoring Eddie Murphy, where he paid tribute to his iconic Shrek character in a playful way.

The biopic Michael features a strong supporting cast, including Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, and Kat Graham as Diana Ross. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the film aims to capture the life and legacy of one of music's most influential figures.
