Rosanna Arquette is pushing back at Harvey Weinstein after the disgraced producer suggested that several women who accused him of sexual assault overstated their experiences during the rise of the #MeToo movement.

In a statement released Thursday, the actress insisted her account has remained consistent for decades and rejected any suggestion that she embellished the story of what she says happened during a meeting with Weinstein in the 1990s.

"I have never exaggerated my assault," Arquette said, adding that public reporting and past interviews have reflected the same description of the encounter she first discussed years ago.

Weinstein, speaking from prison in a recent interview, claimed some of the actresses who spoke out against him were motivated by attention or financial gain, and suggested a few wanted to be associated with the wave of accusations that followed.

Arquette strongly disputed that idea, saying survivors of assault do not form a "club" and emphasizing that sharing such experiences often carries personal and professional consequences.

The actress first publicly described the alleged incident in 2017, recalling a meeting about a potential project that she says took place in a hotel room where Weinstein answered the door wearing a bathrobe and attempted to initiate sexual contact.

She said she rejected the advance and later felt the experience affected opportunities in Hollywood, a claim that gained renewed attention during reporting that helped expose decades of misconduct allegations against the producer.

Weinstein has repeatedly denied assaulting women, though he has been convicted in criminal cases tied to multiple accusations and remains behind bars while legal battles connected to earlier verdicts continue.

Arquette also rejected claims that she received money related to her allegation, saying she never obtained compensation through a settlement or lawsuit connected to Weinstein.

Instead, she said speaking out was about telling the truth and supporting other survivors, adding that attempts to rewrite the history of the allegations only reopen painful chapters for those involved.
