At the 2026 Actor Awards, Seth Rogen is presenting Catherine O'Hara with roses.

While accepting his late co-star's posthumous award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series at the March 1 presentation, the Studio actor paid a moving homage to his late co-star, who passed away on January 30 at the age of 71 after a brief illness.

Rogen addressed the crowd at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, saying, "I was asked to assume the very sad honor of accepting this award on O'Hara's behalf." "I know she greatly respected her fellow performers, and I know she would have been pleased to win this award from them. She was a huge admirer of all of you.

The 43-year-old shared his experience working with the Canadian actress, emphasizing her ability to "destroy" her performances while elevating the material. Earlier in the evening, he won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series award for his own performance in the series.

"She would send me and Evan [Goldberg] an email that was pretty similar every night before she had a shooting day on our show," he recounted. The scene she was in would be entirely altered after it said, "Hello, I hope you'll consider the following." And in every single instance, it improved not only her character but also the situation and the show as a whole.”

Rogen expressed his hope that audiences will continue to appreciate and share the work of Catherine O'Hara, particularly highlighting memorable moments such as her dancing to Harry Belafonte in Beetlejuice and her iconic scene in Best in Show where she hobbles after injuring her knee. He urged viewers to introduce her performances to those unfamiliar with her talent, emphasizing the fortunate experience of having her share her gifts with the world. Rogen, who portrayed film executive Matt Remick in the show, reflected on the significant influence O'Hara had on his own comedic journey. He recalled telling her that she was the funniest actor he had ever seen on screen, describing his experience of working with her as a true honor. He characterized her as hysterical, kind, intuitive, and generous, noting that her presence motivated him to elevate the quality of their show.

During the recent ceremony, Rogen's show, The Studio, was recognized as the most-nominated series of the evening, receiving five Actor nominations and acclaim for its satirical approach to Hollywood. Although the series is fictional, Rogen admitted that some episodes were inspired by real-life Hollywood experiences, including a specific incident involving an unnamed executive who became emotional after not being acknowledged in a Golden Globes acceptance speech. Rogen recalled discussing this incident during a March 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, noting that the individual in question was aware of the episode and had expressed their displeasure about it.
