Nicki Minaj has continued to publicly align herself with U.S. President Donald Trump, dismissing criticism from fans and critics while reinforcing her support for his policies and initiatives. The rapper appeared at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 28, where she praised the administration's rollout of government-backed investment accounts for U.S.-born babies and pledged a significant personal contribution to the program.
Speaking at the event, Nicki described herself as Trump's strongest supporter and said negative reactions to her political stance have only intensified her loyalty. "I am probably the president's number one fan, and that's not going to change," she told attendees. Addressing public criticism, she added, "What people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more."
According to CNBC, Nicki plans to contribute between $150,000 and $300,000 to the Trump Accounts, a savings initiative introduced under Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." The accounts are designed for U.S. citizens born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, and will launch with a one-time $1,000 government contribution. Annual contributions are capped at $5,000, with funds invested in a broad stock-market index. Account holders gain access at age 18 under standard IRA rules.
She promoted the initiative on X ahead of the summit, calling it "the true meaning of paying it forward." She emphasized the importance of early financial education, writing that financial literacy and support for children could give them "a major head start in life."
During her remarks at the summit, Nicki also criticized what she described as unfair treatment of Trump, saying, "We're not going to let them get away with bullying him." She further stated that Trump "has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him."
Her outspoken support has drawn backlash from segments of her fanbase, particularly following recent social media posts praising Trump's comments on religious
persecution. Minaj shared a Truth Social post from Trump discussing violence against Christians in Nigeria and expressed gratitude for living in a country where people can freely worship. Some fans accused her of ignoring the broader political implications of Trump's rhetoric, prompting heated exchanges online.
Responding to one fan who criticized her stance, Minaj defended her position by stating she was advocating for victims of religious violence. "I'll advocate for you the same way that I'm advocating for murdered Christians in Nigeria," she wrote.
Despite the controversy, Minaj's political visibility has continued to grow. She has previously spoken at the United Nations as a guest of the Trump administration and appeared at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in December, where she said she has "the utmost respect and admiration" for Trump and credited him with giving many people hope.
