Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval have reached a conditional settlement in their long-running legal dispute over the Los Angeles home they purchased together before their highly publicized split.

According to court documents filed on Tuesday, Jan. 13, the former Vanderpump Rules stars agreed to settle the lawsuit Madix filed in January 2024 seeking to force the sale of their shared property. Legal representatives for Madix, 40, submitted a notice of settlement in Los Angeles Superior Court, stating that dismissal of the case is dependent on the "satisfactory completion of specified terms." The filing did not disclose the details of the agreement.

The parties are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 5 for a final status conference. If the agreed-upon terms are not met, the case is set to proceed to trial on Feb. 17.

Madix initially filed the lawsuit on Jan. 5, 2024, requesting a "partition by sale," which would require the court to sell the house and divide the proceeds between both parties. At the time, she also asked for an "equitable allocation of the proceeds of sale," including payment of debts secured by the property, partition costs, attorneys' fees and title expenses.

The former couple purchased the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home in 2019 for approximately $2 million after six years together. Their relationship ended in March 2023 following allegations that Sandoval had an affair with their co-star Rachel "Raquel" Leviss.

Following the breakup, both continued living in the home, which became a central point of contention. In February 2024, Sandoval challenged the lawsuit, alleging that Madix failed "to state sufficient facts to state a cause of action" and arguing that a court-ordered sale should not be granted.

After news of the legal filing became public, Madix explained her motivation for pursuing the sale. "I own the house," she told PEOPLE. "I felt like it was the last thing, and I'm just really motivated to be able to get my investment that I made into the house out so that I can make another investment and be able to fully move on from being tied to that."

She added, "I want things a certain way when I think it's the right time. So I'm ready. I want to own my home."

Sandoval previously addressed their living arrangement during an April 2023 appearance on the "Howie Mandel Does Stuff" podcast, saying, "I don't have a lot of friends I can stay with right now. ... I kind of run the house." He added that they relied on a mediator to avoid daily interactions, explaining, "We text when we're coming and going."

Since filing the lawsuit, Madix has moved on personally and professionally. She purchased a $1.6 million Los Angeles home in March 2024 and has been residing there, while Sandoval has discussed plans to sell his share of the property as he looks ahead to the next chapter.

Representatives for both parties have not publicly commented on the settlement.
