Pat Finn's cause of death has been confirmed more than two weeks after the beloved television actor died at the age of 60. According to official records, Finn passed away on December 22, 2025, at his Los Angeles home after a long battle with bladder cancer, a diagnosis he had reportedly lived with for several years.

The actor, best known for his warm and memorable performances on hit sitcoms such as The Middle, Friends, and Seinfeld, was surrounded by close family and friends at the time of his death. Reports previously indicated that Finn had been privately battling cancer, though details of the illness were not made public until the release of his death certificate.

Born in Illinois in July 1965, Finn developed a love for comedy early in life. He graduated from Marquette University in 1987, where he formed a close friendship with comedian Chris Farley. The two were roommates, rugby teammates, and later collaborators in Chicago's famed comedy scene.

Finn went on to join The Second City's National Touring Company, an experience that helped sharpen his improvisational skills and opened doors in television. His early career included a starring role on The George Wendt Show in 1995, followed by recurring appearances on Murphy Brown.

Audiences widely recognize Finn for his role as Bill Norwood on ABC's The Middle, where he appeared from 2011 to 2018. His character, a loyal and easygoing friend to Mike Heck, became a fan favorite for his humor and Midwestern charm.

Beyond television, Finn appeared in films including Dude, Where's My Car?, How High, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Dealin' With Idiots. His final credited screen role came in 2023, when he portrayed Dr. Wells in the film Unexpected.

Following his passing, tributes poured in from friends and colleagues. Former co-star Patricia Heaton remembered Finn as "one of the finest and funniest human beings," while others praised his kindness, generosity, and unmistakable comedic spirit.

Finn is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna, and their three children. His family has requested privacy while encouraging fans to honor his legacy through kindness, laughter, and love for others. He will be remembered for warmth, humor, loyalty, generosity, humility, and laughter.
