Timothée Chalamet had an emotional and memorable moment at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, where he won Best Actor for his performance in Marty Supreme. The actor appeared visibly shaken as he accepted the award at the ceremony held at Santa Monica's Barker Hangar, taking his time as he gathered his thoughts onstage.
"Damn, I'm more nervous than I thought I'd be," Chalamet admitted early in his speech, drawing warm laughter and applause from the audience. He went on to thank his fellow nominees, acknowledging the strength of the category and singling out Michael B. Jordan, whose recent performance he praised after rewatching Sinners.
Chalamet also credited Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie for crafting a story that resonated deeply with him. He described the film as one centered on ambition and human flaws rather than moral instruction. "You made a story about a relatable dream and didn't preach to the audience about what's right and wrong," he said, urging filmmakers to continue telling stories rooted in authenticity.
The most talked-about moment of the night came when Chalamet turned his attention to the audience and thanked his longtime partner, Kylie Jenner. The couple, who have been together for three years, have recently been appearing publicly more often, though they skipped the Critics Choice red carpet and arrived after the show began.
"Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you," Chalamet said, prompting the camera to pan to Jenner as she mouthed back, "I love you."
The pair shared a brief kiss after Chalamet's name was announced, drawing cheers from the crowd. Fans also noted that their outfits subtly mirrored looks they wore at the Marty Supreme Los Angeles premiere, adding to the buzz surrounding the couple.
Chalamet's win marked a milestone in his awards journey. It was his first Critics Choice Award, following previous nominations for Call Me By Your Name, Beautiful Boy, and A Complete Unknown. In Marty Supreme, he portrays a professional table tennis player driven by an all-consuming dream to win the 1952 world championship.
The 31st Critics Choice Awards aired live on E! and USA Network.
