Stefon Diggs is facing serious legal trouble after his former personal chef claimed the Patriots star slapped and choked her during a heated argument over her salary ... with prosecutors now hitting the wide receiver with felony charges.
According to the newly released incident report, the female employee went to police on Dec. 16 to report an altercation that allegedly occurred on Dec. 2. The chef claims Diggs entered her unlocked bedroom to confront her about an ongoing text battle regarding money she believed she was owed.
The woman claims things quickly turned violent when Diggs became enraged and smacked her across the face. She told cops she tried to push him away, but he then "tried to choke her using the crook of his elbow."
She alleges Diggs was positioned behind her with his arm wrapped tight around her throat ... stating she struggled to breathe and feared she "could have blacked out." When she attempted to pry his arm loose, she claims Diggs only tightened his grip before throwing her onto her bed and uttering, "Thought so."
The woman told officers she tried explaining she hadn't been paid, but Diggs replied "Lies" and walked out.
She noted redness on her chest but took no photos, admitting she was initially hesitant to come forward due to Diggs' status as a Patriots player.
The dispute stemmed from a change in her pay schedule, from weekly to monthly, and Diggs' refusal to pay for a week in November.
The chef insisted she didn't request the time off and was owed her salary.
Following the alleged attack, the woman says she quit. When she tried to collect her belongings, Diggs' assistant allegedly offered to pay the disputed wages only if she signed a non-disclosure agreement, which she refused. She later provided police with text messages documenting the exchange.
The report states cops tried to contact Diggs directly on the matter ... but they were unsuccessful.
On Dec. 23, the woman emailed cops expressing interest in pressing charges. On Tuesday, officials announced Diggs has been charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery.
Diggs' attorney, David Meier, vehemently denied the claims in a statement ... calling the allegations "unsubstantiated" and "uncorroborated."
"The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear," Meier said. "They are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute."
Diggs is now preparing to fight the charges, with his lawyer insisting the incident "did not occur."
