Ariana Grande is saying goodbye to Oz, and doing it the only way she knows how: with an emotional, glitter-drenched love letter straight from the heart. Just hours after Wicked: For Good delivered a historic box office debut, the 32-year-old star posted a heartfelt message thanking fans, honoring her journey as Glinda, and reflecting on what the role has meant to her life.
The film soared to a massive opening weekend, instantly becoming one of the most successful musical adaptations ever released. And for Grande, who has adored Wicked since childhood, the milestone made the moment even more personal. In her letter, she described the world of Oz as a lifelong refuge, a place she turned to for comfort, imagination, and inspiration long before she stepped on set in a bubble-gum-pink gown.
Grande wrote that the story taught her lessons she will carry long after she hangs up Glinda's wand: loving without conditions, forgiving deeply, and "fiercely protecting ourselves and each other." Playing Glinda, she admitted, was transformative, calling the experience "the greatest gift of my life" and a chapter that reshaped her creatively and emotionally.
What moved her most, she said, was watching audiences connect with the film on the same level she always had. Seeing fans respond with the same devotion she felt growing up turned the release into what she called "the most meaningful and cherished gift of all."
Grande closed her letter with a message directly to the fans who helped bring Wicked: For Good to its record-breaking heights. "Whenever things get scary or you feel alone," she wrote, "remember that home is something we choose. Your Ozian family loves you exactly as you are." She signed off simply: "Love always, Ariana (Your Glinda)."
