Amanda Bynes is publicly shutting down a disturbing rumour after a viral TikTok falsely suggested she became pregnant by former Nickelodeon executive Dan Schneider when she was 13. The video, which circulated widely across TikTok and X, appeared to show Bynes making the allegation herself — but the actress says the clip is entirely fabricated.

Bynes told TMZ the TikTok "was not made by her," explaining it had been "altered" and was "full of BS." According to her, the creator pieced together unrelated videos, including a recent Instagram Story, and spliced them "as lies for click bait." The doctored edit cuts away before she turns her camera to the man she is currently dating, creating the illusion she was naming Schneider. She reiterated the clips were taken without context and rearranged to falsely present serious accusations.

The viral edit also reused footage from The Amanda Show, including a behind-the-scenes moment of Schneider in a hot tub explaining, "I'm the executive producer and I'm the head writer," later adding, "I actually wrote this whole conversation we're having right now." The skit, originally comedic, was reframed by the TikTok creator with ominous text claiming: "THE MAN I GOT PREGNANT WITH AT 13," misleading viewers into treating the scene as evidence.

While the rumour dates back to an already-debunked 2013 fake Twitter account, its resurgence comes amid renewed public scrutiny of Schneider following the documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. The series featured allegations of toxic work environments and inappropriate jokes, prompting Schneider to later say, "Watching [the documentary] over the past two nights was very difficult, me facing my past behaviours, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret," and that he "definitely owe[s] some people a pretty strong apology." He also stated that "every one of those jokes was written for a kid audience because kids thought they were funny, and only funny."

Schneider has denied any criminal misconduct and is currently suing the producers of Quiet on Set for defamation, claiming they "falsely portrayed him as a child sexual abuser and ruined his rep." Bynes declined to participate in the documentary and has never accused Schneider of sexual abuse.

At 39, Bynes has been focused on her personal life and health. Recently, she updated fans about her weight-loss progress on Ozempic, saying she is "so excited" after dropping 20 pounds and that the injection form is "really working for me."
