Chanel West Coast is skeptical about the end of Ridiculousness. Days after MTV discontinued the Rob Dyrdek-hosted clip program, the TV personality—who was a panelist on the series from 2011 until 2023—expressed her feelings over its departure.

"It is sad. "It's the end of an era," she remarked in an interview with TMZ published on November 4. "I sincerely believed the world needed a show like that right now. It makes people laugh and joyful, which is something we need more of. It was not a good time for a performance like that to end."

However, the 37-year-old (real name Chelsea Chanel Dudley) admitted that the program's DNA had changed since her departure.

“I don’t want to say I was shocked,” she noted. “It was a bit different since I left the show.”

Chanel, who shares a daughter named Bowie Breeze, 3, with her boyfriend Dom Fenison, has announced her departure from “Ridiculousness” after 30 seasons alongside Rob Dyrdek and Sterling “Steelo” Brim. She is stepping away to focus on independent projects, including a role in the upcoming MTV docuseries “The West Coast Hustle” set to premiere in 2024. Chanel expressed her sentiment about the transition, stating that while she is undertaking numerous new ventures, it is natural for old projects to come to an end.

MTV's decision to cancel “Ridiculousness” is part of a broader strategy to reorient its offerings towards more curated content featuring innovative formats and diverse creative voices. However, despite the end of new episode production, previously filmed episodes will continue to air on the channel until 2026. Furthermore, all 46 seasons of “Ridiculousness” will remain available on MTV, and select seasons will also be accessible on Paramount+. This strategic shift indicates MTV's commitment to evolving its programming while still honoring the legacy of established shows.
