Teddy Swims is being frank about his financial situation. The singer of "Lose Control" revealed that his success didn't happen overnight and gave insight into how much money he's made from his concerts since starting his career.

In an interview with Triple M's Rush Hour, an Australian radio program that aired on October 12, he stated, "I'm doing well." "I'll put it this way: I made money last year for the first time because it was the first time we broke the even margin on touring."

Teddy (born Jaten Collin Dimsdale) stressed that making money off of his performances didn't happen overnight, even though he proudly declared that he was finally "in the black."

“It took five years of touring for us to really start seeing anything,” he continued. “A lot of people think you’re doing great if you’re playing arenas and stuff, but a lot of times we’re barely breaking even, if that.”

Nevertheless, the 33-year-old said that it took time to "build the audience" and likened his touring obligations to a business.

He estimated that we made $20,000 or so the previous year, but since everyone is paid and fed, I would say that was a success. I'll be swimming in a few years.

There are other changes in Teddy's life on the road besides his profit margins. It was a tough transition for the Grammy nominee to leave his newborn to go back on tour after his girlfriend, Raiche Wright, gave birth to their first child, a boy, in June.

In July, Teddy told The Sun, "I was just crying and drinking when we were leaving on the bus." "Bro, you need to stop drinking tequila, or you need to stop crying," my tour manager said. This isn't a good way to get your tour started.

The singer is also embracing the addition of parenthood to his hectic life, even though his career will require him to travel frequently.

He exclaimed, "I can't wait to watch him develop." "I feel incredibly fortunate and thankful for everything in my life."
