Jennifer Aniston is opening up about why she decided to write her 2016 Huffington Post op-ed, where she called out the media for its constant speculation about her personal life and pressure to start a family. In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, the Morning Show star, 56, reflected on years of headlines questioning whether she was pregnant during her marriages and relationships.

"They didn't know my story or what I'd been going through over the past 20 years to try to pursue a family," Aniston said. "I don't go out there and tell them my medical woes. That's not anybody's business."

The actress explained that while she tried to ignore the gossip, the constant scrutiny eventually became impossible to block out. "There comes a point when you can't not hear it — the narrative about how I won't have a baby because I'm selfish or a workaholic. It does affect me. I'm just a human being," she said. "That's why I thought, what the hell?"

Aniston shared that she spoke up not only for herself but also for other women dealing with fertility challenges and in vitro fertilization (IVF). "It felt like it was not only for me but for any woman struggling with the same issue," she said.

Back in 2016, Aniston told People that speculation about her having children was unfair and intrusive. "It's not something that's in our everyday life," she said at the time. "It's more questions that arise in interviews or on the red carpet. It's unnecessary energy and not really fair to those who may or may not have children. There are many reasons why people don't, and maybe it's something they don't want to discuss. It's everyone's personal choice."

Her close friend, actor Jason Bateman, also spoke about Aniston's nurturing nature in Vanity Fair. He described her as more of a "co-mom" to his daughters, Francesca and Maple, than just an aunt. "She almost makes us parents look bad because she's so attentive and warm," Bateman said. "She's the first to call about important moments in their lives. She's been there from the moment they were born."

Aniston continues to emphasize compassion and privacy when it comes to conversations about fertility and family, reminding others that no one truly knows another person's journey.
