Taylor Swift has firmly dismissed speculation that her upcoming marriage to NFL star Travis Kelce will mark the end of her music career, calling the suggestion "shockingly offensive."

Speaking to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 to promote her new album The Life of a Showgirl, the 35-year-old singer was asked about fans' fears that she might stop making music after her wedding. "Don't tell me this is your last album?" Mills asked. Swift quickly replied, "What? No," before adding, "That's a shockingly offensive thing to say. It's not why people get married, so they can quit their job."

Swift explained that Kelce's unwavering support plays a key role in their relationship. "I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music," she said. "That's the coolest thing about Travis; he's so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do, it connects. There's no point in time where he's gonna be like, 'I'm really upset that you're still making music.'"

The Opalite singer also drew parallels between their careers, noting how both she and Kelce perform for massive crowds in NFL stadiums. "We both as a living, as a job, as a passion, perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums. For him, it's practice; for me, it's rehearsal. For him, it's a game; for me, it's a show. We just call them different things. We both have teams. It's a very similar thing," she said.

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, sharing photos of the proposal in a colorful garden setting. During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Swift teased that wedding plans would come after her album rollout. "You'll know," she said with a smile. "I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan."

Released on October 3, The Life of a Showgirl is Swift's twelfth studio album and features tracks like "The Fate of Ophelia," "Wi$h Li$t," and "Wood." According to Billboard, it sold over 2.7 million copies within 24 hours of release — proof that, despite speculation, Taylor Swift's career is showing no signs of slowing down.
