The Grey's Anatomy alum, 52, was recently seen in a motorized wheelchair at a Washington, D.C., airport. When asked by a paparazzo what message he wanted to send his worried fans, Dane replied with a stilted but firm, "Keep the faith, man." He followed with a heartfelt, "Thank you, brother," when told the nation was rooting for him.

Dane wore a black jacket, dark pants, and white sneakers during the outing, where he was assisted by an aide. Despite visible changes in his speech and mobility, sources say the actor is determined to live fully in the present. "He wants to enjoy what he has now because he knows tomorrow isn't promised," one insider told the Daily Mail.

The actor, who shares daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, with ex-wife Rebecca Gayheart, has been open about how his illness affects his family. Gayheart recently admitted their children are "really suffering" as they adjust to their father's health challenges. She added that therapy and a commitment to "dignity, grace and love" are helping them cope.

Dane announced his ALS diagnosis in April. In a June interview with Diane Sawyer, he revealed he had lost full use of his right arm and feared his legs would soon weaken as well. At the time, he acknowledged the reality of his condition, saying simply, "It's sobering."

Still, he has used his platform to advocate for ALS research. Earlier this month, Dane appeared in a campaign for the I AM ALS organization. He also spoke with Congressman Eric Swalwell in Washington about expanding access to clinical trials. "I want to ring every bell," Dane said. "I have two daughters at home. I want to see them graduate, get married, maybe even have grandkids. I'm going to fight until the last breath on this one."

Though ALS is progressive and incurable, Dane continues to focus on resilience. His message to fans—simple yet powerful, underscores his mindset: faith, positivity, and love above all.
