Prince William can enjoy live music without going to the Glastonbury Festival. The Prince of Wales does, after all, have a budding musician at home. The royal revealed that Prince Louis, his youngest son with Kate Middleton, is seven years old and learning to play a variety of musical instruments while on a visit to a youth group in London on September 9.
According to Hello! magazine, William told one of the youth group's teenagers, "I'm definitely not a drummer." I'm glad you're doing it. My youngest is currently practicing, so he would give it a try if he were present. I regret not starting at your age.
Louis, 43, disclosed that he played a variety of instruments as a child, suggesting that his love of music runs in the family.
"My biggest weakness was that I couldn't read music," he added. "I began playing the drums, piano, and trumpet. After realizing I needed to learn every song by heart, it just came naturally to me."
Despite losing his musical motivation, William stated that he is still encouraging Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, his other children with Kate, to continue reading music.
He went on to say, "I love music, so I make sure my kids learn it because it's crucial—really important."
William has previously gushed over his children's love of rhythm. He actually disclosed that he had to arrange for Louis, George, and Charlotte to play their instruments on a regular basis because they would attempt to compose music simultaneously.
According to Town & Country magazine, he said on Apple Fitness+'s Time to Walk series in December 2021, "I've been amazed by how much my children already have inherited my family's love of music." The song that is played in the morning is the subject of a heated argument between Charlotte and George most mornings. And I now have to essentially prioritize the fact that someone will do this one day, and then it will be someone else's turn.
