Glen Powell is opening up about his split from model Gigi Paris after she recently spoke about the end of their three-year relationship and the speculation that surrounded it.

The actor, 36, addressed the breakup in an interview with GQ published September 9 while promoting his Hulu series Chad Powers and upcoming film The Running Man. "I will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her," Powell said of Paris. He added, "Everybody's always going to have their own narrative on things and all that. And she's welcome to it. Relationships are really hard. And when two people break up, they each go to their own brunch and they will each tell their own narrative."

Powell and Paris began dating in 2019 and split in 2023, during the filming of Anyone But You in Australia with Sydney Sweeney. Their breakup sparked rumours of an on-set romance between Powell and Sweeney, which the two later admitted they leaned into as part of promoting the film.

In June, Paris spoke on the Too Much podcast about her experience. She explained that when faced with speculation about Powell's connection to Sydney Sweeney, she felt she could either remain silent and let the public assume she was fine with the rumours or walk away to make it clear she wasn't. Choosing the latter, she ended the relationship, though she admitted the decision left her devastated.
She said the breakup was particularly painful because she expected respect after more than three years together. Instead, she felt dismissed, describing the situation as one where Powell's work came first while she was left feeling exposed and vulnerable.

Paris also expressed disappointment that Powell never publicly shut down the affair rumours. She believed a simple statement affirming his loyalty would have spared her humiliation, but instead, she felt abandoned and made to endure the fallout alone.

While Powell declined to go deeper into their split, he shared a piece of advice from his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Tom Cruise: "He basically said, 'Hey, it's going to get really, really loud. It's your job to just turn the volume down. Just remember you have your hand on that switch. You have your hand on the ability to turn up that noise or turn it down.' And really just turning down the noise and trusting your own gut has been a real godsend for me."
