Devon Walker is bidding farewell to his live broadcasting from New York. On August 25, the comedian posted a picture of himself backstage on Instagram with the caption, "Me and baby broke up," revealing that he had left Saturday Night Live after three seasons.

"Jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages," Devon wrote in the post, adding more details about his decision to quit.

Some jobs can "last for a long time if we're lucky, but most of them are fleeting," the 34-year-old clarified.

"I worked with the show for three years, and there were times when it was really cool," he added. At times, it was extremely poisonous. But despite all of the dysfunction, we made the most of what we had. We made a fucked up little family.”

Devon thanked his fellow comedians and SNL writers Alex English and Gary Richardson, joking that the three of them went from "running a bar show to working together at 30 Rock!" Devon was well-known for his impressions of Michael Strahan, New York Mayor Eric Adams, and other celebrities.

The actor jokes that he hopes to star in a prestige drama after returning from a trip to Japan, indicating that he has big plans for his post-sketch show future. "Ideally something with Julianne Moore," he said.

Many people expressed sadness at Devon's departure in the comments section after the update. For example, Saturday Night Live costar Chloe Fineman wrote, "I'll miss being your pregnant wife all the time!!!!"

As of right now, none of the other cast members have announced that they will be departing the show before its 51st season, but many have been open about how difficult their jobs are, particularly in relation to their pay, according to Pete Davidson.

"Are you aware of how much they pay us?" In December, the 31-year-old told New York Magazine. "I think I got dinner because it's about three grand an episode."

As Jason Sudeikis, a former co-star, continued, "You don't really make enough money to make big purchases." After my first year of writing on SNL, I believe my largest purchase was probably the rent in New York.
