Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just secured another round with Netflix, but the new deal doesn't carry the same firepower as their blockbuster $100 million contract back in 2020. Instead, the Sussexes signed a scaled-back "first-look" agreement-Netflix gets dibs on their projects, but at a noticeably reduced price.

That shift comes after a mixed run of content. Their docuseries Harry & Meghan pulled in massive global viewership, proving the couple can still command attention. But the rest-Harry's polo show and Meghan's cooking project With Love, Meghan-didn't spark the same reaction. Critics say Meghan's latest outing is a prime example of where things went wrong.

Royal PR expertEdward Coram-James told Express UK the couple's joint brand is more of a liability than an asset. "The challenge," he explained, "is that their identities don't align. Harry represents military and charity; Meghan represents Hollywood and lifestyle. Together, the narrative gets muddled."

Industry chatter suggests With Love, Meghan lacked the star power Netflix expected. According to insiders quoted by The Daily Beast, several A-list figures passed on the project, leaving the series with a "nice but underwhelming" guest list. That mismatch between expectation and delivery is what made the show feel flat.

A PR analyst put it bluntly to Page Six: "Viewers expected Meghan to call in Hollywood royalty-think Oprah-level appearances. Instead, the lineup was charming, but it didn't grab headlines. That's the problem."
