King Charles III is still fighting cancer, but he is doing well.

During a recent visit to Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket, the British monarch assured a royal fan that he was doing well, more than a year after he revealed in February 2024 that he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer.

According to Hello magazine, Lee Harman, a fan, recalled Charles telling the PA News agency about his health, saying, "He said he was feeling a lot better now and that it was 'just one of those things.'"

The 76-year-old's health is indeed improving, according to recent reports from Buckingham Palace. In December, a source told NBC News that Charles was coping with a "managed condition" and that his "treatment cycle will continue into next year.”

Alongside his wife, Queen Camilla, Charles has managed to keep a busy schedule full of royal responsibilities despite his ongoing cancer journey. In April, he even shared what he has learned since receiving a diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer at a palace reception honoring cancer researchers.

In a statement distributed in booklets distributed at the event, he wrote, "Every diagnosis, every new case, will be a daunting and at times frightening experience for those individuals and their loved ones." "However, as someone who is among those statistics, I can attest that it can also be an experience that highlights the best aspects of humanity."

And Charles, who revealed his diagnosis a month before Prince, his son Prince William, and Kate Middleton made her own cancer battle public, admitted his journey gave him a newfound understanding and appreciation of those fighting for cures and support.

“It has reinforced what I have long observed during these visits,” Charles added, “that the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion.”

Kate, on the other hand, revealed that she had finished her chemotherapy treatments in September of last year and thanked everyone for their support over the past few months.

However, the Princess of Wales, who is the mother of Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, with William, recently acknowledged that recovery is more difficult than it may appear.

When Kate visited Colchester Hospital in Essex earlier this month, she explained, "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment." After treatment, people think they can resume their normal lives, but the phase that follows is actually quite challenging.

The 43-year-old acknowledged that she was still depending on her loved ones, saying, "Someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.”
