Sir Elton John has quietly taken on the role of mediator in the growing rift between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. The 78-year-old music legend, a close family friend and godfather to Brooklyn, hosted the couple for lunch at La Guerite beach club in the South of France last week.

The private gathering, also attended by Elton's husband David Furnish, reportedly included a candid conversation about the ongoing feud. "Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland," one insider told The Sun. "He's utterly neutral in this row."

Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, have recently distanced themselves from the wider Beckham family. The couple were notably absent from Victoria's upcoming Netflix docuseries and have not appeared at several family milestones, including David's 50th birthday. Tensions appear to have deepened online as well, with Brooklyn and Nicola unfollowing his younger brothers Cruz and Romeo on Instagram. A source close to the family confirmed the feeling is mutual: "The younger boys blocked them first."

Despite the underlying friction, Elton reportedly kept the lunch light and warm after briefly "saying his piece." According to sources present, the lunch included lobster linguine, priced at £190, and rounds of Aperol Spritz and beer. Elton, known for his generosity, covered the entire bill.

"Elton may have once enjoyed the drama of celebrity feuds," a friend noted, "but he's older now, and just wants peace. He's seen too much to watch a family fall apart over silence."

The family rift is no secret. In June, Brooklyn publicly celebrated his grandmother's birthday but remained silent during his father's milestone celebration. Nicola, meanwhile, fueled rumors of estrangement by posting tributes that emphasized her husband's independence from his family.

"Elton takes his role as Brooklyn's godfather seriously," said a friend. "He's always been supportive, but he's gently urging Brooklyn to consider how quickly life moves."
