Brad Pitt is seeking access to private communications from his ex-wife Angelina Jolie as part of their ongoing legal dispute over Château Miraval, the French winery the former couple once co-owned. On June 30, Pitt, 61, filed court documents requesting a deposition from Alexey Oliynik, a representative of the Stoli Group. Pitt claims that Oliynik has direct knowledge of Jolie's 2021 sale of her stake in the winery to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of Stoli.

Pitt first filed a lawsuit in February 2022, arguing that Jolie sold her share of the estate without his consent, violating a mutual agreement that neither party would sell without the other's approval. Jolie countersued in September 2022, accusing Pitt of waging a "vindictive war" against her since she filed for divorce in 2016. Neither of their representatives have responded to recent requests for comment.

In the new filing, Pitt's legal team stated that Oliynik has refused to provide documents or participate in a deposition, citing his residency in Switzerland as a reason. Pitt's attorneys argue that the materials requested are central to the case and support their claims that Jolie acted with malice in selling to a company Pitt strongly opposed.

Jolie and Pitt, who share six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox — officially separated in 2016 after over a decade together and finalized their divorce in December 2023. The legal battle over Château Miraval has continued to draw public attention, with both sides accusing each other of obstructing the path toward resolution.

Jolie's legal team has stated that Pitt declined to buy her out of the winery business after she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement that she believed was intended to silence her regarding past abuse allegations. These claims refer to a 2016 private flight where Pitt was allegedly abusive toward his family. Authorities investigated the incident, but no charges were filed and Jolie chose not to pursue legal action.

In May 2024, a judge ordered Jolie to produce eight years' worth of NDAs, arguing they could be relevant to her objection to signing one in 2021. A source close to Jolie said she hopes Pitt will drop the lawsuit so the family can find peace. A source close to Pitt claims Jolie's actions have caused significant harm to those around them.
