Sean "Diddy" Combs will be sentenced on October 3 following his conviction on two federal charges related to prostitution. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian approved the sentencing date after both prosecution and defense agreed to the timeline. Combs' legal team will submit their sentencing recommendation by September 19, while the prosecution will follow a week later.

Combs, 55, was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, which fall under the federal Mann Act. These charges each carry a maximum of ten years, totaling a potential 20-year sentence. However, prosecutors have indicated a sentencing range of 51 to 63 months under federal guidelines. In contrast, the defense argues for a lighter sentence of 21 to 27 months.

The convictions stem from what prosecutors described as orchestrated drug-fueled sexual encounters, referred to as "freak-offs" and "hotel nights," involving male escorts and Combs' girlfriends. Combs was acquitted on the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which could have led to a life sentence. These charges alleged a broader criminal enterprise involving Combs' employees in various illegal acts, including arson, bribery, and assault.

Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, a former girlfriend and central figure in the case, testified that Combs subjected her to repeated physical abuse. "If he was charged with domestic violence we wouldn't all be here having a trial because he would have pled guilty — because he did that," said Combs' lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo, during closing arguments. Another key witness, identified as "Jane," testified about a violent incident in June 2024, during which she sustained visible injuries. A third woman, "Mia," also accused Combs of repeated sexual assault during her employment.

Despite the defense's argument that all encounters were consensual and part of a celebrity's personal lifestyle, Judge Subramanian denied Combs' request for release on bond, citing concerns over witness safety and flight risk. Combs will remain in custody at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center until sentencing.
