After 27 years of marriage, Deborra-Lee Furness has formally filed for divorce from Hugh Jackman, nearly two years following their public split in September 2023. The filing, submitted in New York on May 23, 2025, marks the final procedural step in a process the former couple had long since emotionally and financially resolved.

According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, the divorce is uncontested, with all major issues—spousal support, child expenses, and medical coverage—settled privately. "There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, she got what she believed she deserved," a source revealed. Furness, 69, reportedly received a "handsome" support payment, closing out the $250 million fortune they once shared.

The couple, who met on the Australian series Correlli in 1995 and married a year later, share two adopted children, Oscar and Ava. Their 2023 separation was described in a joint statement to People as "a loving shift" aimed at "individual growth." At the time, insiders confirmed the split was mutual and deliberate. "It was not a snap decision," a source said. "They are going on separate journeys, but they will always be a family."

While both have kept public appearances minimal, subtle shifts hinted at change. Jackman, now 56, was seen walking hand-in-hand with Broadway star Sutton Foster, sparking speculation since January. Meanwhile, Furness attended the 2025 Parsons Benefit and was recently seen at the Australian Open with her daughter. In a May interview, she reflected on personal growth during this period. "I've learned that I'm strong and resilient," she told People.

Furness also addressed the emotional undertones of their separation in a heartfelt statement. "My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal," she said. Though denying any physical infidelity, a source close to the family claimed Furness believed Jackman and Foster had an emotional affair, which left her feeling betrayed.

Still, she emphasized healing. "Returning to yourself and living within your own integrity... is liberation and freedom," she stated. "None of this is personal. We are all on our individual journeys."

With the legal process now pending only a judge's signature, both parties appear poised to move forward. For a relationship once rooted in lifelong vows, their split, though painful, seems to reflect mutual respect, closure, and the resolve to embrace what lies ahead.
