Lewis Hamilton made an unforgettable arrival to the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix media day when he rolled up to the track on his remarkably elusive custom MV Agusta F4 LH44 motorbike. Seven-time Formula 1 world champion rode up to the track amidst flashing cameras and adoring applause, all dressed in Ferrari red to match the attention-grabbing motorbike.
Hamilton’s arrival couldn’t have been more apt. Riding high on the back of a decent outing with Scuderia Ferrari at the previous Imola Grand Prix, Hamilton’s arrival in Monaco just continued to attract eyes, especially after he attended an intimate screening of the new F1-themed movie in which he is a co-producer.
The MV Agusta F4 LH44 isn’t your run-of-the-mill superbike. Born of a partnership between Hamilton and MV Agusta in 2017, only 44 of this highly esteemed machine were ever built—matching Hamilton’s iconic race number. It is one of the globe’s most desired and rarest motorbikes.
Based on MV Agusta’s Reparto Corse division’s high-performance F4 RC platform, the LH44 boasts a 998cc four-cylinder engine that outputs a whopping 212 horsepower. That’s seven more than standard, and combining it with a dry weight of only 190 kg, it guarantees blistering performance with an estimated top speed of approximately 184 mph.
The bike’s design is equally captivating, with extensive use of carbon fibre and titanium to enhance its lightweight build. But it’s the bold red paint scheme, matching Ferrari’s signature hue, that truly sets the LH44 apart.
In speaking at the bike’s initial release, Hamilton shared his excitement about the endeavor: “My partnerships with MV Agusta are a great way in which I can unite my passion for riding motorcycles with my passion for innovative design. The F4 LH44 is very impressive and I had the chance to ride it on track last month in Italy. It handles really well and combines the best of both worlds, a race bike for the road.”
Hamilton’s Monaco racing week was off to a start with an invite-only gathering of Formula 1 drivers and officials for an exclusive screening of the Brad Pitt-acted F1 film, held at the Grimaldi Forum. As a producer, Hamilton has had a big role to play in ensuring the movie is correct, and that has extended his presence on and off the asphalt.
As is the way with Hamilton, the Monaco GP was already proving to be stylish and memorable.
