Jim Ross provides an update on his difficult medical journey. The WWE Hall of Famer disclosed his colon cancer diagnosis and offered some details about his impending course of treatment.

 

On May 15, the professional wrestling commentator posted on X, "Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two." "I appreciate your concern and support."

The 73-year-old, who quit his job as a WWE commentator in 2019 to work as an announcer for AEW (All Elite Wrestling), has now fought cancer twice in as many years. He disclosed his skin cancer diagnosis in October 2021.

He wrote, "Skin cancer confirmed" on X at the moment". Awaiting a radiologist's analysis to identify the most effective course of action. Radiation, probably. I'm feeling fantastic and prepared to strike.

Jim, known to WWE fans as "Good Ol' JR," announced two months later that he was "cancer-free" and would be going back to his job as an AEW television announcer. Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation for the assistance provided by AEW President Tony Khan throughout his recuperation.

He stated on X, "I will hopefully return to the announce desk on December 29 in Jacksonville due to my skin cancer care, which consists of 22 radiation treatments starting Monday"."@TonyKhan has been a blessing in helping me with this technique. I appreciate all of your help.

Additionally, Jim's coworkers made sure he know they were rooting for him once more while he battled cancer for the second time. Jim was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

A statement posted on X on May 15 read, "All Elite Wrestling joins fans around the world in sending love and support to Jim Ross as he battles colon cancer." "J.R. is a valued member of the AEW family, and we stand beside him during his journey toward recovery."
