Arsenal stars Declan Rice, Gabriel and David Raya have been shortlisted for the Professional Footballers' Association Men's Player of the Year award, highlighting the club's successful Premier League campaign. The trio joins Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki on the six-man shortlist.
Fernandes enters the race after already receiving major recognition earlier this month when he was named Football Writers' Association Men's Footballer of the Year. The award is often viewed as a strong indicator of who could go on to claim the PFA's top individual honour.
The Portuguese playmaker enjoyed a remarkable season for Manchester United, producing a Premier League record of 21 assists as he helped guide the club to a third-place finish. His creativity and leadership were central to United's success throughout the campaign.
Arsenal's representation on the shortlist reflects the club's impressive title-winning season. Rice was a dominant presence in midfield, while Gabriel provided stability and leadership at the heart of the defence. Goalkeeper Raya also played a crucial role, delivering a series of important performances as Arsenal secured their first Premier League crown in 22 years.
Manchester City's Erling Haaland is once again among the nominees after another prolific season in front of goal. The Norwegian striker scored 27 league goals to finish as the Premier League's leading scorer and claim the Golden Boot award.
His teammate Rayan Cherki also earned a place on the shortlist following an outstanding debut season in English football. The French playmaker quickly adapted to life in the Premier League and became one of City's most influential attacking players.
Last year's PFA Men's Player of the Year award went to Mohamed Salah after the former Liverpool winger scored 29 goals and helped the Reds secure the league title.
The winners of this year's awards will be announced at the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony, scheduled to take place in Manchester on 25 August.
Cherki is also in contention for the PFA Young Player of the Year award. The Manchester City midfielder is joined by teammate Nico O'Reilly, who was recently named the Premier League's Young Player of the Season.
Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo is another nominee after an impressive campaign under Michael Carrick. Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi also earned recognition after scoring 13 goals in 33 league appearances during his debut Premier League season.
The shortlist is completed by Max Dowman of Arsenal and Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha, both of whom have represented England at Under-19 level and impressed with their performances during the season.
