Tottenham Hotspur are working to appoint a new permanent head coach and have identified Roberto De Zerbi as a leading candidate, according to multiple reports.

The search follows the departure of Igor Tudor, who left the club by mutual agreement after only 44 days in charge. Senior leadership, including chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange, are now overseeing the process of finding a replacement during a difficult period for the club.

Tudor's exit came after a damaging 3 0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, which left Spurs hovering just above the relegation zone. Despite deciding to part ways with him after that result, the club delayed the move out of respect following the recent death of his father.

De Zerbi has emerged as a top target following his departure from Olympique de Marseille earlier in the season. Tottenham had already begun informal discussions to determine whether he would be open to taking over. Early indications suggest that the

Italian coach is interested, though he is said to prefer waiting until the end of the campaign to assess whether the club will remain in the Premier League before committing.

It remains unclear whether Tottenham will push to secure De Zerbi immediately or revisit the situation later. In the meantime, the club is also exploring short term options to stabilise results.

Sean Dyche is among those under consideration for a temporary role. Recently available after leaving Nottingham Forest, Dyche is known for guiding teams away from relegation. However, his preference for a contract of at least 18 months could complicate negotiations.

Former manager Mauricio Pochettino remains a popular choice among supporters due to his past success at the club. However, his current responsibilities with the United States men's national soccer team ahead of the upcoming World Cup make a swift return unlikely.

Other potential interim solutions include figures with strong ties to Tottenham such as Ryan Mason, Harry Redknapp and Tim Sherwood, all of whom could step in until the end of the season. Current player Ben Davies has also been mentioned as a possible short term option.

Additional names linked with the role include Adi Hutter, along with former players Glenn Hoddle and Chris Hughton.

With relegation concerns growing, Tottenham face a critical decision as they look to secure both short term stability and a long term vision for the club.
