US FED CHAIR WARNS OF SHARP SLOWDOWN IN JOB CREATION

US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell cautioned Tuesday that risks to employment have increased in recent months, citing a significant deceleration in job creation within the world's leading economy. Addressing a conference in Philadelphia, Powell noted that "while the unemployment rate remained low through August, payroll gains have slowed sharply, likely in part due to a decline in labor force growth due to lower immigration and labor force participation.”
